Today our agency received our Pre Approval notice from the China Center for Adoption Affairs. This means that the CCAA has reviewed our Letter of Intent and information sheet and has approved us to be Leah's family! PAs normally take 6-8 weeks, and ours was just under 7.
What next? Our dossier is being reviewed, translated, and authenticated. It will hopefully be sent to China around the end of the month. Twelve to 17 weeks after that (hopefully), we will receive our Letter of Confirmation, which we return after checking the box that says, yes, we really want to do this. Then it takes 2-4 weeks for our Travel Approval and we leave 2-4 weeks after that. So, we're probably looking at traveling late May or June, if all goes well.
The exciting thing about receiving our Pre Approval, other than the fact that both the China and US governments think we're qualified to do this, is that we can begin sending her packages and hopefully getting more updates.
Welcome!
